Getting started
How do we connect our phones?
One of you taps Invite and shares the 6 character code, or shows the QR code. The other one taps "I have a code" in the onboarding (or "Enter a code" under More) and types it in. You can also simply scan the QR code with the iPhone camera.
Can we play if we live together?
Of course. Each of you plays on your own iPhone, so you can't see each other's answers. Many couples play on the couch and compare the results afterwards.
Which languages are available?
English and German. The app follows the language of your iPhone, and each partner can play in their own language.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Couples Quiz is iPhone only for now.
Playing
How does a level work?
First you answer all questions for yourself. Then the app asks you to guess your partner's answers. When both of you have played, you see the results side by side.
What is the Know Score?
The share of correct guesses from both of you in your first try. You need 60% to unlock the next level. For questions with a scale from 1 to 10, a guess that is off by one still counts as a hit.
My partner hasn't played the level yet.
The level shows that you are waiting for your partner. Tap "Nudge" to send them a reminder. If they haven't turned on notifications, you can send them a message instead.
I'm not getting notifications.
Open the iOS Settings, tap Notifications, then Couples Quiz, and allow notifications. If you skipped the question in the onboarding, this is where you turn them on.
I tapped the wrong answer.
While you are still answering, use the back button at the top right. Guesses that were already checked stay locked, that's part of the game.
Plus and purchases
Does my partner need to buy Plus too?
No. One purchase unlocks Plus for both of you, as long as you are connected as a couple.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The monthly plan starts with a 7 day free trial. There is also a one time lifetime purchase. The app shows the prices in your currency.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open More, then "Restore purchases". If your partner already has Plus, use "Your partner already has Plus? Enter their code" on the Plus screen.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open the iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
Your data
My partner got a new phone.
Open More, tap "Partner has a new phone" and send the new code. Your progress stays.
Who can see our answers?
Only the two connected phones. Your partner sees your answers after a level, that is the point of the game. Details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete our data?
Write to caspar.baumeister.dev@gmail.com from within the app (More, Send feedback) and I delete your couple and all answers within 30 days.
