Couples Quiz

How well do you know your partner? A quiz with 60 questions

A ready to play couples quiz with 60 multiple choice questions in six rounds, a fair scoring system and a result table. Answer for yourself first, then guess your partner.

Couples researcher John Gottman calls it a love map: the part of your mind where you keep your partner's world, their worries, hopes, favorite things and history. According to the Gottman Institute, couples with detailed love maps are better prepared for stress and conflict. A quiz is a playful way to check how detailed yours is, and to update it.

How to play

  1. Each of you takes the quiz for yourself first. Write your answers down secretly, a notes app works fine.
  2. Then go through it again and guess your partner's answer for every question.
  3. Compare. Every correct guess is one point. For the 1 to 10 scale questions, a guess that is off by one still counts.
  4. Add up both of your points and divide by the number of guesses. That's your Know Score.

Answer honestly, not the way it sounds nice. Otherwise your partner is guessing a version of you that doesn't exist.

What your result means

Know ScoreWhat it means
90% or moreYou have a very detailed love map. Talk about the few questions you missed anyway.
75% to 89%You know each other really well. The misses are worth a second look.
60% to 74%Solid. In Couples Quiz this is enough to unlock the next level.
Below 60%Plenty to discover. That's normal early in a relationship or after big changes.

A low score doesn't mean your relationship is in trouble. People change, and many questions are about things you have simply never talked about. The point is the conversation afterwards: "Wait, you really wanted a second date right away?"

Frequently asked questions

What questions are in a how well do you know your partner quiz?

Good quizzes ask about things that matter to your relationship: how you met, your everyday habits, what makes you feel loved, money, family and your dreams. Trivia like a favorite color is quickly guessed and says little.

How do you score a couples quiz?

Both of you answer for yourselves first, then guess each other. Every correct guess is a point. Divide the points by the number of guesses to get a percentage. For questions with a 1 to 10 scale, being off by one still counts.

Can we take the quiz in a long distance relationship?

Yes. Each of you answers in a notes app, then you guess on a call and compare. Couples Quiz does the same on two iPhones without a call.

What is a good score?

Anything above 60% is solid. A lower score is not a bad sign. It usually means you found topics you have never talked about.
